Volunteer Opportunities

With a small paid staff, the Historical Center could not operate without the support and assistance of dedicated volunteers. A variety of opportunities are available to fit all interests and schedules. Volunteers greet visitors, assist with special events and programs, help with office tasks, and much more. If you'd like to learn more, please contact the Historical Center at 941.629.PAST (7278).

CCHC Society Volunteer Corps – Over 400 wonderful CCHC Society volunteers donated 5049 hours to assist the small professional staff with all aspects of planning and presenting historical programs, preparing exhibits and staffing special projects and fundraising events in fiscal year 2006. Some folks donate their sewing and carpentry skills, for example, and others help with annual events and fundraisers.

Volunteers who are available on weekdays meet for lunch bi-monthly on the fourth Friday. Can you join us? Find out how you can join our Volunteer Corps by calling the Historical Center at 941.629.PAST (7278).
