Dick Loftus was elected to the Board of County Commissioners in November 2006. He served Charlotte County as an active volunteer for 22 years, serving on numerous advisory committees and attended Commission and School Board meetings. Dick was instrumental in Florida’s “Save Our Homes” bill. He also developed an energy conservation plan for Charlotte County schools, which over the years, has saved the Charlotte County taxpayers millions of dollars.

Served 12 years in United States Air Force Reserve (active duty during Cuban Missile Crisis)
