LEARN
The goal of the Charlotte County Government Academy is to give citizens and staff the opportunity to learn about County Government and share their knowledge and ideas. The Academy will provide an overview of county operations in departments under the Board of County Commissioners (BCC).
MEET
Participants can expect to meet Commissioners, County Administration, department directors and staff. There will be ample opportunities to ask questions and gather information.
SHARE
During the presentations participants will discover many programs and services offered and also find out how to get involved. Graduates will leave with a thorough understanding of Charlotte County, how various departments function, and how they can work with county staff to meet the demands of a growing community. At the end of each Academy session "graduates" will be recognized at a Board of County Commissioners meeting and given a certificate of completion.
Eligibility
The Government Academy is open to citizens with a Charlotte County address and Charlotte County BCC Employees. You must commit to attend all five workshops.
Schedule
Five Wednesdays, March 14 to April 11, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at various locations including County Administration Building in Murdock, Charlotte County Mid-County Library, Charlotte County Public Safety Building, and Charlotte County East Port Campus.
