Wayne Sallade Named to Florida Emergency Management Hall of Fame

Veteran Charlotte County Emergency Management Director Wayne Sallade has been inducted into the Florida Emergency Management Hall of Fame at ceremonies in Orlando this week. The 22-year emergency manager joins former Florida Division of Emergency Management Director Joe Myers of Tallahassee and former FEMA Administrator R. David Paulison of Miami in the inaugural Hall of Fame class, announced during the Florida Director's Conference at the State Logistics Response Center. Cited for his leadership as a member of the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association, where he served as vice-president and for 12 years as the Area 6 (Southwest Florida) Governor; Sallade has also served an integral role in the Florida Governor's Hurricane Conference on both the planning and site selection committees. Recognized for his continued efforts in the areas of public education and hurricane preparedness, Sallade has repeatedly been tabbed to speak at conferences and symposiums across Florida and the nation.
