Port Charlotte, Fla. The voluntary State initiative encourage hotels and motels to continually move forward in adopting cost-saving “green” practices that reduce waste and conserve natural resources.
To become a designated member of the Florida Green Lodging Program, the SLEEP INN & SUITES implemented a variety of green practices from a checklist of activities targeting energy and water conservation, waste reduction, indoor air quality, and environmental education. To progress to Two Palm, the SLEEP INN & SUITES also implemented additional best management practices over the course of a year and provided supporting data. Practices implemented by the SLEEP INN & SUITES include, but are not limited to, landscaping changes and automatic toilets for water conservation, lighting and extensive equipment upgrades for energy conservation, expanded recycling and green purchasing.
“I applaud our Green Team whom had numerous meetings and put a lot of efforts into making this happen. It was total team work and we are very proud of our entire staff for their contributions to make a difference in Port Charlotte,” said Danny Ali General Manager of the SLEEP INN & SUITES.
