Foreclosure Counseling Available in West County


For Immediate Release

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Aug. 17, 2009) – The Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners is announcing the availability of FORECLOSURE COUNSELING AND FORECLOSURE ASSISTANCE in the West County Annex office of District 3 Charlotte County Commissioner, Robert Skidmore, located on San Casa Boulevard, Englewood.

These services are funded by a grant from the County to our residents via the State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) program. Recent high levels of foreclosures in the County have demonstrated the need for counseling services for many citizens, and West County is no exception.

The foreclosure assistance services are provided by the Housing Corporation of Charlotte County and are available by appointment as well as walk in at the Englewood location. For better dedicated service, appointments are strongly suggested. The Housing Corporation is the SHIP administrator for Charlotte County and is US Housing and Urban Development certified for these counseling services.

Commissioner Skidmore and the Housing Corporation join the staffs of Rep. Connie Mack on the Second Friday of each month from 10:00 am. to noon, and Rep. Vern Buchanan, also providing offices hours at the West County Annex each month .
