Englewood, FL

With 115 acres, Cedar Point is one of Charlotte County's unique parks with pine flatwoods, salt marsh, mangrove fringe and hammock areas. Situated on Lemon Bay, a long, narrow estuary, Cedar Point is a great place to see beautiful wading birds that visit the mangrove fringe and adjacent seagrasses. The pine flatwoods are home a pair of bald eagles, as well as gopher tortoises and a myriad of native plants.
To get there: Travel west on SR 776 (from Port Charlotte) and turn left onto SR 775 (Placida Rd). Immediately after Lemon Bay High School and the Dairy Queen on the right is Cedar Point Environmental Park.
