Charlotte-Glades Library System

Volunteers

The Charlotte-Glades Library System uses volunteers at all of its branch libraries.  Becoming a library volunteer is a great way to:

  • Meet New People
  • Learn New Skills
  • Find Interesting Books to Read
  • Contribute to Your Library and Your Community

Volunteers assist with many different jobs including:

  • Checking in materials
  • Putting materials away and maintaining the shelves
  • Checking materials out to patrons
  • Assisting patrons in finding materials in the library
  • Helping with clerical tasks such as typing and filing
  • Assisting with children's programs

If you are willing to learn and able to commit to a regularly scheduled time, being a library volunteer may be just the new activity you've been looking for.
