East County Planning District
Charlotte County has initiated a planning study for the East County Planning District. The study area is outlined in the map below. The County has contracted with RWA, a land development consulting firm, to organize and complete the study. Growth Management Department planning staff will be assisting with the study. Inga Williams, Principal Planner, is the County’s project manager/liaison. Assisting Ms. Williams is Matt Trepal and Jie Shao, also planners with the Growth Management Department.

A brief description of why the study is being initiated and the objective of the study is outlined in the Scope of Work with RWA. RWA is only completing the first phase – the development of the Manual. The second phase, as indicated in the Scope, will be the development of land use regulations. This will be initiated after the adoption of Goals, Objectives and Policies, based on the regulatory blueprint of the Manual, into the County’s Comprehensive Plan.
