Growth Management
Growth Management consists of the following Sections:
- Zoning - Current Planning - functions include administering and updating the Land Development Code, site plan review, environmental review and processing requests for special exceptions and variances.
- Comprehensive Planning - functions include administering and updating the Comprehensive Plan, community planning, coordination with various technical advisory boards and government agencies, special planning projects, some administration and update to the Land Development Code, plat (subdivision) requests, plat and street vacations, lot split determinations, and processing plan amendments and rezonings. Planning also includes a Transportation Planner to help the department coordinate and review the many plans and projects that contain transportation issues.
- Engineering - functions include transportation, stormwater and review and processing of excavation requests.
- Land Information - functions include maintaining and updating the Comprehensive Plan’s Future Land Use Map, the Zoning maps, processing requests for street name changes, creating special maps using Geographic Information Systems software, and addressing.
- Department Services – functions include administrative support and a Concurrency Manager to administer the Concurrency Management Code.
