STATION RELOCATIONS
Due to the severity of damage to department facilities caused by Hurricane Charley the following fire stations and department facilities have been relocated. The movement of these units to the new locations allows normal coverage and response times of those units to their normally serviced areas of Charlotte County.
Station-7: Now located in a temporary facility on the grounds of the severely damaged fire academy at 7273 Florida Street in Punta Gorda near Edison College. Units will operate out of this facility until a new station is built, possibly at the Charlotte County Airport on Airport Road in Punta Gorda.
Station-11: Now located in a temporary facility near the current station. Units will be housed here until a new station is built on the grounds of the old station.
Training Academy: Now located in a temporary facility on the grounds of Fire Headquarters located at 22429 Edgewater Drive in Port Charlotte. This temporary facility will be used for the departments classroom training until a new academy is built near the County Jail on Airport Road in Punta Gorda.
