Deputy Chief of Training Marianne Taylor
Deputy Chief Marianne Taylor began her career in Charlotte County as a Paramedic with the old County Emergency Medical Service on June 10, 1987.
When EMS and the Fire Department merged in 1992 she attended the fire academy to become a “dual certified” member of the new Fire-EMS department. After working as a Firemedic for a few years Chief Taylor progressed through the ranks, first as a Lieutenant assigned to operations and than upon promotion to Captain she was assigned to Battalion-3 and than the training division.
On January 5, 2000 Deputy Chief Taylor was promoted to her current rank and became the department’s training coordinator. In this capacity Chief Taylor oversees all fire and EMS training for department personnel. In addition, Chief Taylor is the department’s liaison to the Medical Director and serves on the county Medical Advisory Committee or “MAC”. This committee evaluates and implements all medical protocols and procedures that are performed in the field.
