Public Education Coordinator, Dee Hawkins

Paramedic Denise Hawkins serves as the Public Education Coordinator for Charlotte County Fire-EMS. Dee was appointed to the department as a Paramedic on May 10, 1989 and served for many years in the Englewood area of the county.

While on light duty after being injured, Dee started performing public information and education duties. At that time the department did not have a formal public information official. Those duties usually fell to one of the Battalion or Deputy Chiefs on an as needed basis. When it became evident that a full time public information official was needed and that Dee was the right person for the job, she was formally appointed to this position on November 11, 2000.
