What Happens At The Landfill

What we do with your garbage?

Residential and Commercial Municipal Solid Waste [MSW] is buried at the Zemel Road Facility. To maximize our disposal capacity all garbage deposited at our site is crushed and compacted with a landfill compactor

Federal and State Regulations require that all garbage receive daily cover at the end of each day. We use an alternative daily cover that significantly reduces the quantity of cover soils and as a consequence, reduces the amount of disposal volume consumed by using soils.

TIRES
Tires are collected  at our facility. We contract with a recycling firm to remove and process waste tires.

WHITEGOODS
Whitegoods consist of appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, water heaters, washers and dryers. These appliances along with scrap metals from construction businesses are collected at our facility. We contract to have these materials removed by a recycling firm.

We will accept Lead-Acid Batteries from businesses at our Battery Storage Area. They will be recycled, not buried!
