Prairie Creek Preserve

Prairie Creek Preserve is a 1,600 acre preserve in eastern Charlotte County. Prairie Creek is a tributary of Shell Creek Reservoir and traverses through the center of the preserve providing open water foraging for wading birds and osprey. The diversity of habitats on the preserve varies from scrub, scrubby flatwoods, palmetto prairies, pine flatwoods, small areas of herbaceous marshes. The variety of habitats provides ample opportunities to observe several species of Florida wildlife, including the Florida scrub-jay, gopher tortoise, bobcats, deer and different species of reptiles and amphibians.

1900 Duncan Road - Punta Gorda, Florida
Take Take Highway 17 north; Follow signs to the Prairie Creek Preserve.
