Buck Creek Preserve
Buck Creek Preserve is an 80+ acre preserve located along the northern section of Buck Creek in Englewood. Buck Creek is dominated by a combination of scrubby and mesic flatwoods, where gopher tortoises are commonly seen and a bald eagle makes its home. Two freshwater marshes occur onsite and are havens for several species of wading birds, along with the mangrove fringe along the creek bed.
Directions:
5350 Placida Road - Englewood, Florida
Take S.R. 776 to Placida Road (C.R. 775). Proceed south approximately 4 miles and look for the Buck Creek Preserve signs.
