Treatment Facilities - What New Businesses Should Know
If you are currently in business, expanding, or starting a new business and have any of the following, you need to ensure that you are complying with all appropriate regulations.
- A discharge to the wastewater system from a heating or cooling system.
- Use, storage, or generation of hazardous or Toxic materials.
- Discharge to the wastewater system other than restrooms, showers, eyewashes, hand washing sinks, kitchen sinks or dishwashers.
- Presence of floor drains or other spill pathways to the wastewater system.
- A discharge containing Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) in excess of 100mg/l.
- A discharge of wastewater with a high temperature.
- A discharge containing heavy metals, such as - Cadmium, Copper, Arsenic, Chromium, Cyanide, Lead, Molybdenum, Nickel, Silver, Zinc, Mercury, or selenium.
- A discharge high in Total Suspended Solids or B.O.D. (organic loading).
- A discharge of flammable or explosive substances.
