The Charlotte County Budget Office is preparing to incorporate any requests for funding assistance from Florida Boater Improvement revenues into the FY08/09 budget. This funding will be available from the Florida Boater Improvement revenues, as well as from the West Coast Inland Navigation District (WCIND).
It is important that we receive all requests for utilization of this funding in time to be considered by the Marine Advisory Committee (MAC) at their March 13th meeting. In addition, these requests will be recommended to the Board of County Commissioners during the County’s budget process. In order to prepare the agenda for these presentations, all requests for funding must be submitted to the County’s Budget Office, Attn: Bill Taylor, Management/Budget Analyst, Charlotte County Budget Office, 18500 Murdock Circle, Port Charlotte, FL 33948 by February 1, 2008. This will allow the Budget Office sufficient time to prepare all requests for distribution at the Marine Advisory Committee’s March Pre-Agenda meeting.

Completed applications must be submitted in hard copy. E-mails and FAXES will not be accepted.
COUNTY DEPARTMENTS INITIATING A CIP REQUEST ON BEHALF OF A DISTRICT, ETC: Please fill out the funding request application and a CIP form, showing total project costs and associated revenue sources.
COUNTY DEPARTMENTS INITIATING A REQUEST ON BEHALF OF THEIR DEPARTMENTS: An example of this would be a request to fund a boat, pamphlets, etc. Please fill out the funding request application outlining the purpose of the request along with estimated costs as well as other revenue sources you propose to utilize in assisting with funding.
CIVIL AIR PATROL AND CHEC: Please fill out the funding request application outlining the program showing history, current program statistics, etc., as well as what is planned to be accomplished with the requested monies in the upcoming fiscal year.
MARINE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERS KNOWING OF AN AGENCY THAT WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST FUNDING: Please have them submit the same information as is requested of the Civil Air Patrol and CHEC. Also, please remember that all requests made from any City Department need to come from the City Manager’s Office. No request for funding on behalf of the City will be considered if not approved by the City Manager.
All agencies submitting a funding request will be provided a meeting agenda, and will be notified if they need to appear in front of the Marine Advisory Committee to present their request and answer any questions. Please remember the Marine Advisory Committee Meeting at which the funding requests will be considered is scheduled for March 13, 2008 at 9:30 AM in Room 119 of the County Administration Complex, 18500 Murdock Circle, Port Charlotte.
