Charlotte County Code Enforcement Board (CEB)

The Charlotte County Code Enforcement Board meetings the first Wednesday of each month at 9:00 am in Room 119 of the Administration Building at 18500 Murdock Circle, Port Charlotte, FL. The meetings are taped and shown on CCTV - Channel 20 in most of the County and Channel 97 in South County.

Agenda

The purpose of the Code Enforcement Board (CEB) is to hear code cases presented by a Code Officers of Charlotte County. They hear cases concerning: high grass, outside storage or junk and other miscellaneous items, abandoned vehicles, parking of trailers, standard housing code violations, expired permits, no final inspections on permit, or failure to obtain permit. They are responsible for disciplinary actions against the Charlotte County Zoning Code 3-9, International Property Maintenance Code and Commentary, and the Florida Building Codes.

The meetings are quasi-judicial, subject to the Florida Sunshine Law. Members of the board must not discuss with each other any matter which comes before them or visit any site relevant to a matter before them with another member of the board, unless such discussion or site visit occurs at a hearing advertised and open to the public.
