CONSTRUCTING STRUCTURES IN FLOOD ZONES

Details:
New requirement for building plan approval - effective July 1, 1999
All plans submitted for approval in AE, A, and V flood zones must have (at a minimum) the following information:
1. A building elevation with the base flood elevation (BFE) shown.
2. A complete floor to roof peak wall section shown with:
a) the base flood elevation (BFE) shown
b) the existing and proposed grade elevation shown
c) the first habitable floor elevation shown
(based on information provided in the National Geodetic Vertical Datum {NGVD} North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) and Flood Insurance Rate Maps {FIRM})
