Charlotte County Building Construction Services, in conjunction with the Economic Development Office, is featuring their first Southwest Florida Green Futures Expo and Energy Options Conference. The event will be held on November 1 and 2, 2009 at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center, 75 Taylor Street, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. In addition to promoting Charlotte County’s initiatives to bring environmentally friendly enterprises and industry to the area, your participation in this 2-day event will benefit your own business from increased exposure and brand recognition through our website, and through print and television advertising. Your organization will have the opportunity to support educational efforts benefiting the citizenry, as the region and the state move toward a green and brighter future.
LEED® Green Associate Exam Prep Course
In addition to the Expo and Conference, we will also be providing a course for the LEED® Green Associate Exam Prep. Because of the changes to the requirements, this is the first course that is needed in order to become a LEED® Green Associate. The Green Futures Expo is a tradeshow designed to highlight the products and services that will benefit consumers and businesses for a future of green living. Our goal is to bring together many diverse organizations to show potential homeowners, business leaders, builders, and community organizations not only the potential environmental savings from building and living green, but also the substantial dollar savings that can be attained by modifying how we live. The Expo will also have forums to educate the citizenry on the options available to them as we move to a greener future.

Event Schedule - Green Futures Expo (Nov. 1)
The Energy Options Conference for a Brighter Southwest Florida Future will bring to the area representatives from major companies and organizations in the alternative energy industry. The Conference will provide the venue for participants to discuss the future of the industry, as well as current issues, policies, and market strategies in several panel discussions. Given the importance and timeliness of the Conference, it promises to bring business leaders and economic development professionals from not only around the Southwest Florida region, but from parts of the United States and Europe. The keynote speaker for the conference will be Vanessa Stewart, Co-founder of Soltage. Soltage is a full service renewable energy company that develops and operates solar energy stations on client sites across the USA. Conference registration is $50. Teachers, Students and County Employees will be given a special discounted registration fee of $35!!!
