Green Builder of the Year 2010

Beth and Don CantinOn November 13th, 2010 during the opening ceremony for the Green Futures Expo, the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners awarded its first ever Green Builder of the Year Award to Cantin Builders. The award is in recognition of their achievements and their participation in the Charlotte County’s Green Building Program.

Cantin Builders, has exhibited an impressive commitment to incorporating green features into both their custom home design and their construction practices. Cantin Builders has achieved both gold and silver certification from the Florida Green Building Coalition standards, which is well above the minimum requirements for the certification. They are a leader in the construction industry, with over 35 years of experience and over 400 custom homes built, Cantin Builders is proud to be a Charlotte County business that is locally owned and operated.

The Green Builder of the Year Award is part of the incentives provided by the Green Building Program. The program is voluntary to builders and property owners and has been developed to help Charlotte County become a more sustainable community by reducing the environmental impact of buildings, and promoting economic and environmental health in the County. The program is designed to encourage environmentally sensitive construction and development.
